Hungarian Red Cross Tracing Service Information in English
The Red Cross can help you when you have become separated from your family members due to armed conflicts, upheavals or natural disasters. In these situations the Hungarian Red Cross works together with a world-wide network of 186 Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Central Tracing Agency of the International Committee of the Red Cross /ICRC/ to restore and maintain contact between family members by conveying messages and tracing relatives with whom contacts have been broken. Personal data are treated as confidential by the Red Cross.
The Hungarian Red Cross Tracing Service accepts inquiries from:
- people living in Hungary irrespective of their status here
- other Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies or the ICRC acting on behalf of those residing in other countries who are trying to find their family members in Hungary or send a message to them
If you are staying in Hungary and would like to find a member of your family anywhere in the world, please contact the nearest Red Cross Branch or fill in a tracing form in English language and send it directly to the Tracing Service of the Hungarian Red Cross Headquarters.
